Officially Two Months! Yay!

This is a huge milestone. In the last 11 days Jessi has done a lot of growing. For starters, she is now playing on her little mat... She loves it there

She plays herself to sleep there too

Now that she is getting bigger she is wanting to see and do new things... and this means that Mom and Dad have to improvise so that we can keep on with our day too... so we bought this...

She seems to really like it and of course she had to sample it... she loves to try new things by putting them in her mouth :-)

We were also blessed to have Grandma Rosie, Aunt Christy, and cousin Destinee swing by! Jessi was all smiles to see them again

Jessi wants me to introduce you to all her friends... she loves to play with them everyday. First we have her BFF the Zebra
This little fella is with her everywhere... she loves the rattle noise he makes, the polka dots on his feet, and that he always smiles at her. Jessi is learning that when you pull down on Zebra's legs he will go back up while he shimmies (vibrates).

Jessi's Bugg

This is who spends plenty time in her mouth. Jessi is learning what "soft" is and feels like with the help of this buddy.

The Big Birdie
This pink lady came with her play mat and sings songs to her when we pull down on her hanging ring. Jessi has managed to put her feet in the ring and make the Big Birdie sing!

The Purple Puppy
This snuggly puppy sings lullaby's. It also has a gentle light that glows when it sings. She loves all her little friends and Mommy makes sure that we have some handy when we go run errands.

Daddy has been been doing a great job juggling school with everything else that is going on... and with Jessi helping him do homework he will surely have a successful semester

2 Month Check Up at the Dr

Two months also marks the time where we have to go see Jessi's buddy Dr Howard for a general check up and preventative vaccines. Of course I knew that vaccines means needles so I was sure to bring her Zebra for reinforcements.

We have been telling Jessi how important it is for her to know that Dr Howard is her friend and only wants her to feel good all the time... even if that means having to take injections every now and then. So we dressed her in her special sunflower outfit and were on our way. In the car Jessi was accompanied by Mommy, Daddy, and her newest friend her Little Birdie... this is her car buddy.

Little Birdie gave Jessi a little pep talk on the way to the Drs Office

After that Jessi said that she knew it wasn't gonna feel good initially, knew that Mommy and Daddy would be there with her, and felt even better after the Little Birdie pep talk... she was ready... "I'm ready Momma"

She was such a good girl waiting in the well room sitting on Daddy's lap

She now weighs 11lbs 8oz, is 23 inches long, and is super healthy. She took her injections with stride and cried for like 2 minutes before falling asleep. Jessi slept in her car seat comfortably

Mommy kept Jessi on her chest the entire rest of the evening. Jessi didn't get a fever but did wake up every two hours when she moved her leggie... it was really sore and she said it didn't feel good. Mommy and Jessi read her goodnight book twice before she got super sleepy. With much love and attention from Mom and Dad, Jessi fell asleep around 2am and stayed asleep til 9:30am! It does help that she slept all night cuddled up with Mommy and Daddy :-)

And today it's like nothing ever happened. Jessi woke up smiley, relaxed, and happy. It seems like she might have slight tenderness in on her injection site, but as you can see that isn't gonna stop this little wiggle worm from playing with her buddies :-)

7 1/2 Weeks and Counting

Almost at the two month mark! We are doing great... Jessi is still doing better and better at sleeping and eating. We went on an errand yesterday and tried to put on her little denim jean shorts... ummm... didn't fit!!! Ha ha ha!! When we told her she couldn't believe it either... "Are you serious momma?!"

Jessi is so expressive with her beautiful iittle face. She has currently learned to give us a pouting lip that we call pucheritos... she usually does it when she is hungry and has been asleep for over three hours. I caught a small one the other day

But it soon turned into her usual smile

We had her in a new jammie the other night. She looked so grown up in her little gown. We liked this one alot. What do you think?

Last night we made a visit to Daddy's work. She was wearing her white polo and baby pink ballerina shoe socks

I love these little "shoes"

Jessi wanted to see what Mommy was staring at...

And she said she loves them too

And a great revelation of last night is that the awesome diaper bag Aunt Alexis gave us has a zipper... since we have had it we thought it didn't close... good job to Daddy for noticing it! Now we can keep all of Mommy's crap from spilling out everywhere :-)

Jessi gets her 8 week injections this week and we will let ya know how that goes. We are also going to start visiting preschools to see where Jessi will begin her academic career :-) Wish us luck and we will post new pictures soon!

Labor Day Weekend

Jessi got to meet a ton of new family over the weekend at the first annual Rodriguez family reunion

Uncle Jesse is always the first to volunteer to hold Jessi... especially since Mommy took forever getting the baby's stuff out the truck... He couldn't believe the amount there was to bring down... He didn't know Mommy had prepared for the second Y2K

Jessi was pretty excited looking around at all the new people from a very familiar place... in Yata's arms

She also got to meet her cousin Brandon... he's 5 months old and is much much bigger... we were all impressed by how big that boy is! Brandon looks so relaxed sitting with his Grandpa Rick who is also Mommy's Uncle

Jessi also met Mommy's favorite cousin Manny #2... I mean Adrian. She was so cozy she stayed asleep. Maybe next time she will meet him when she is awake!

Uncle Jesse always does a great job at looking after baby Jessi... he and Grandpa Jesse is who she was named after

Mommy and Daddy had a great time introducing Jessi to the family

Then on Monday she met her Great Grandma Josie

This is Daddy's Granmda from his mother's side

Jessi was looking super cute in her jean shorts and ballerina shoe socks

And after a little while Jessi fell sound alseep on Daddy's chest

Its been a great weekend... we look forward to the next family gathering

6 Weeks Old

I can't believe that we are already approaching the 2 month mark! These months are just flying by and I am sure that it just gets faster from here... I can't imagine doing this with anyone else but Nick... I'm a lucky gal.

This past week we have been experimenting with jammies for the little dino. Here are some of the fashions that we have been trying out...

Yellow duckie jammies
These fit her really good... but the little pants made for a more challenging time for changing. But we really like the long sleeve and long pant.

Nick's favorite... little footsie jammies
Nick says that he spent a lot of his younger years in footies so he is very familiar with these. They were really good... we will be doing more experimenting as the winter is approaching and we don't want the little bean to freeze.

Purple pants jammies
This was good too, but the little pants were a little snug on her belly... so I bought some bigger pants.
Jessi has moved on from sleeping in her little basonette to sleeping in her travel cribby. We have a beautiful wooden crib that Aunt Christy bought, but we are not going to assemble that til we move into the house.

When she is not in her swing Jessi loves to hang out on the couch with her Momma and Daddy. She will wiggle there and watch tv with us

She usually ends up getting her paci, then falling asleep... either on the couch or on her momma... cause you know momma never wants to put the little dino down.

Uh oh... not the paci! The thing that she likes about her paci is that it helps her fall asleep when shes tired

Cuddling with Momma and her colchita

I don't know what happened here... but I see a paci and the colchita... looks like someone fell asleep on the couch again.

A little supervised tummy sleep time.

She loves talking with daddy... sometimes it's with her facial expressions...

and sometimes it's more like TRex style...

Aunt Alyssa swang by for a visit

We have been trying to have at least one outting with the little dino... she seems to sleep better... and as we all know, Momma is happy when Jessi is happy.
