6 Weeks Old

I can't believe that we are already approaching the 2 month mark! These months are just flying by and I am sure that it just gets faster from here... I can't imagine doing this with anyone else but Nick... I'm a lucky gal.

This past week we have been experimenting with jammies for the little dino. Here are some of the fashions that we have been trying out...

Yellow duckie jammies
These fit her really good... but the little pants made for a more challenging time for changing. But we really like the long sleeve and long pant.

Nick's favorite... little footsie jammies
Nick says that he spent a lot of his younger years in footies so he is very familiar with these. They were really good... we will be doing more experimenting as the winter is approaching and we don't want the little bean to freeze.

Purple pants jammies
This was good too, but the little pants were a little snug on her belly... so I bought some bigger pants.
Jessi has moved on from sleeping in her little basonette to sleeping in her travel cribby. We have a beautiful wooden crib that Aunt Christy bought, but we are not going to assemble that til we move into the house.

When she is not in her swing Jessi loves to hang out on the couch with her Momma and Daddy. She will wiggle there and watch tv with us

She usually ends up getting her paci, then falling asleep... either on the couch or on her momma... cause you know momma never wants to put the little dino down.

Uh oh... not the paci! The thing that she likes about her paci is that it helps her fall asleep when shes tired

Cuddling with Momma and her colchita

I don't know what happened here... but I see a paci and the colchita... looks like someone fell asleep on the couch again.

A little supervised tummy sleep time.

She loves talking with daddy... sometimes it's with her facial expressions...

and sometimes it's more like TRex style...

Aunt Alyssa swang by for a visit

We have been trying to have at least one outting with the little dino... she seems to sleep better... and as we all know, Momma is happy when Jessi is happy.

Later that night

After our big visit at Aunt GGs house Jessi was super tired. I fed the little dino and rocked her to sleep on her favorite spot... my chest. If I could keep her here for the rest of her life I would!

We put her in her swing and she passed out

In case you missed it, she was so tired she couldn't even keep her little mouth closed! Ha ha ha!

Nick and I had some delicious lasagne that Aunt GG made us and I went into the room to lay down... I found a surprise on my side of the bed :-)
The two buddies are waiting for momma to get in bed :-)
Then me and my little girl had some girl talk time in bed... she tells the best story!

And after being up til 3am! This morning she woke up from her nappy kinda groggy...

Then she ate and quickly went back to sleep

Visiting Aunt Genevieve

We had a great day introducing Jessi to her Aunt GG, Uncle Sam, and her new cousins Parker and Hudson. Genevieve has been a true supporter and a true friend as Jessi developed in Mommy's belly. Aunt GG cried when she finally saw Jessi. We are excited and truely blessed to have them in our family :-)

Jessi was happy to meet everyone

Winnie was being so protective of the baby
He sat there so long he got tired

5 Weeks Old

We're 5 weeks in... and as you can see... we probably feel more tired now that when she didn't sleep at night. It's more rough when you are 4 hours into a deep sleep and the TRex wakes you up! This photo is from one of our delirious nights... Mommy and Daddy are tired but having fun and enjoying every minute if this new journey.

Jessi continues to develop, is looking more plumpy, and is feeling a bit heavier. She is so funny when it comes to making some serious decisions. For example... she has a love hate relationship with her pacifier. She likes it... but hates it when we use it to buy more time to keep her on a steady feeding schedule. We were on an errand the other day and she looked a little fussy. So I offered her the option of her paci... and she thought about it...

So I let her try it out to persuade her...

Jessi was a little skeptical, but decided that she would take it under the condition that I knew this was not a permanent thing... as you can clearly see on her face... Ha ha ha!

We had also been hearing about the wonders of a swing. Jessi loves to be rocked and swayed. So I had seen this little guy

And was talking about it with Yata... and she bought it... and we tried it out

I wasn't so hot on it the first night... and I'm still deciding... but it's actually doing ok for now. It's kinda jerky on the glide function but Jessi usually falls asleep in it anyway. So we'll see how it goes.

Last night after bath time we let Jessi fix her own hair...

"How do you like my hair Momma?"

I told her she was too young and She tried to reason with me...

And then I put her in her chef's shirt and gave her some din din... and she forgot all about it.

We are gonna go visit Aunt Genevieve today... we will post some pictures of our outing... Jessi says she loves you and see ya tomorrow :-)

Mica talking to Jessi, trying to get her to say hi. We think she said hi, what do you think???

Officially One Month Old

Jessi is now officially one month old as of yesterday :-)

She has been doing really well and practicing her big girl skills. Jessi likes to stay awake more during the day and doesn't fall quickly to sleep as she used to. She likes to be walked around and loves to play with Mommy and Daddy. Play time consists of trying to make cooing noises, understanding that she has a wrist rattle (thanks Yata!!) and moving that arm, tickles on her little feet, and of course lots of besitos! With being awake more comes better sleep at night. She has gone up to 4 or 5 hours in between feedings! This is a HUGE milestone for us.

We don't get out very often as Mommy is a worry rat about germies... She will feel better at the two month mark when Jessi gets her vaccinations... BUT we do get out every once and a while and Jessi makes the cutest sunflower when we run errands

Jessi has loved her hands and toungue from day 1... she wanted to lick everything the second she was born. Her favorite past time is moving fingers and playing with her tongue

Mommy knows how to calm the dino... usually involves tons of funny noises, funny faces and always ends with snuggle time with mommy.

When Jessi is happy...

Mommy is happy

The dino is finally warming up to her bouncer

But get bored after a while

Jessi says we'll see ya later
